JĂTE MASO? POZOR: HOVĂZĂ JE MĂNĂ EKOLOGICKĂ NEĹ˝ KUĂECĂ A RYBY |

Konzumace kuøat, ryb nebo zeleniny namĂsto èervenĂŠho masa mÚŞe pomoci omezit zmĂŹny klimatu. PøĂprava tĂŹchto druhĂš jĂdel vĂce pøispĂvĂĄ k omezenĂ zneèiĹĄtĂŹnĂ neĹž konzumace mĂstnĂŹ produkovanĂ˝ch potravin. ZprĂĄva vyĹĄla v èasopisu Environmental Science & Technology. |
Retailers tell customers to purchase goods from local sources to help the environment. Locally produced food requires less fuel for shipping to the store. Production of most foods is responsible for 83 percent of the average American household's release of greenhouse gases. Transportation contributes only 11 percent. |

Produkce vĂŹtĹĄiny potravin se podĂlĂ 83 procenty na uvolòovĂĄnĂ sklenĂkovĂ˝ch plynĂš prĂšmĂŹrnou americkou domĂĄcnostĂ. Doprava se podĂlĂ pouze 11 procenty. |
Researchers say production of red meat is almost 150 percent worse for the environment than chicken or fish. Substituting one day per week's worth of calories from red meat and dairy products for chicken, fish, eggs, or a vegetable-based diet reduces the discharge of more greenhouse gases than buying all locally sourced food. |
